Premium grade sodium hydroxide (NaOH) for soap making is an essential, high-purity alkaline reagent specially formulated for artisan soap crafters and commercial soap manufacturers. Engineered via advanced membrane cell electrolysis, our soapmaking lye achieves an exceptional purity level of ≥99.0%, containing virtually zero heavy metals or insolubles that could ruin saponification. Designed as quick-dissolving micro-pearls or non-dusting flakes, this caustic soda yields rapid, clear lye solutions with minimal static and dust generation. It serves as the precise catalyst required to transform natural plant oils and animal fats into hard, luxurious bar soaps via cold process or hot process soapmaking. Delivering dependable SAP values, uniform batch consistency, and long-lasting bar hardness, our sodium hydroxide ensures complete lipid conversion and rich lather every single time.
Maximum Purity (≥99.0% Assay): Eliminates unreacted free oil or excess lye pockets, ensuring accurate SAP (saponification) calculations.
Low-Dust Micro-Pearls & Flakes: Dissolves smoothly in water without clump formation, airborne chemical dust, or residue at the bottom of your lye pitcher.
Ultra-Low Iron Content (≤10ppm): Prevents "dreaded orange spots" (DOS) and premature oil oxidation in cured handcrafted soaps.
Predictable Trace Control: Gives soap crafters steady, controllable trace times ideal for swirls, layers, intricate molds, and botanical embeds.
| Quality Parameter | Micro-Pearls Specification | Flakes Specification |

Soapmaking Application Guide
Cold Process Soapmaking (CP): Dissolves rapidly and cleanly in water, producing predictable heat development that initiates a steady, even saponification reaction curve. This accurate temperature control allows artisans to craft velvety, long-lasting bar soaps using rich plant oils like olive, coconut, and palm, or rich natural fats like shea butter, cocoa butter, and tallow without scorching delicate ingredients.
Hot Process Soapmaking (HP): Accelerates the complete saponification and cooking phase through sustained external heat using crockpots, double boilers, or specialized heated vessels. By forcing the soap mass into a total gel phase within hours, it drastically shortens curing times, yielding rustic, fully neutralized, ready-to-use bar soaps with excellent lather quality.
Commercial Bar Soap & Soap Noodle Production: Specifically formulated for industrial-scale batching, continuous saponification plants, and large-scale kettle boiling systems. Supplied in high-purity grades to synthesize quality base soap noodles, commercial toilet soap bars, laundry bars, and heavy-duty industrial cleaning formulations.
Packaging, Storage & Safety Guidelines
Packaging Options:
Artisan & Small Batch: 1kg heavy-duty, moisture-proof HDPE bottles fitted with tamper-evident, child-resistant safety caps, or 5kg airtight resealable pails for medium-scale craft production.
Bulk Industrial Sizes: 25kg multi-wall paper or woven PP bags equipped with thick, moisture-barrier PE inner liners, as well as 1000kg flexible jumbo super sacks designed for heavy industrial handling.
Storage Rules: Highly hygroscopic chemical nature causes it to rapidly absorb ambient moisture and carbon dioxide from the surrounding air. Store exclusively in original, tightly sealed containers within a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse facility, strictly segregated from strong acids, organic materials, and reactive metals (such as aluminum, zinc, and tin).
Golden Safety Rule: "ALWAYS ADD LYE TO WATER" — Never pour water directly onto caustic lye flakes, pearls, or powders! Doing so triggers an instantaneous, violent exothermic reaction with severe boiling and chemical splashing. Always wear full personal protective equipment (PPE), including chemical splash goggles, face shields, heavy neoprene or nitrile rubber gloves, and long-sleeved protective clothing during all handling operations.
